Auggie the main charector has a facical diformaty. He gets help from his family on how to get throught school (He has been home schooled but now he is going into a real school). I belive the theme to the story is to not be afraid of being yourself and who you are.
Throughout the story August(Auggie) has he afraid of what people think of him and how he acts. What people dont understand is he is just like the other kids in his class and how they act. For example he would try and be the first one out of his class and not be seen by everyone else in he class. That shows that Auggie is nervous when he meets new people and what they would think of him.
Also in the story he is only talking to one person his friend Jack and Summer. For example when
julian was make mean notes and put it in his locker Jack and Summer would team up with Auggie and to write things nice to juilian and put them in his locker as a funny joke on him.
